The Distributed Controls Laboratory for Iindustrial Control and Sutomation has received continuous support of upgrades and maintenance from Bailey Controls Company. The same lab also is equipped with small size microprocessors for direct digital control and for general purpose.

The lab has the capability of linking low level single-process controls and distributed control systems, including the mainframe (IBM), VAX, HP, and other computer facilities in the College of Engineering and the world through the INTERNET communication network. The Bailey distributed computer network 90 has the capacity to provide a link between numerous processes (research and teaching experiments) and all computer facilities.
