The Microscale Physiochemical Engineering Center (MPEC) is an University of Akron, Board of Trustees acknowledged research center established in 1997 with a mission to research and transfer technologies in physiochemical processes with enhanced effects due to surface contacts found in microscale systems of flows, particulates, and porous materials. Academic members at MPEC receive funding from a variety of sources, particularly the National Science Foundation, as well as other government agencies, various consortia, and private corporations.
